I went to the Congo in search of the Sapeurs, a subculture that I’ve been fascinated with for years. Sapeurs are known for dressing in elegant clothing from European luxury brands, but by all outside measures, they are still living largely in poverty. While their clothing choices can be perplexing, I found it to be incredibly inspiring that we can all live our best lives, no matter our circumstances.
