Where Ghosts Still Roam: A Former Soviet Prison in Estonia

On a trip to the Baltics, I visited a former Soviet prison in Estonia that was literally left as it was when the prison closed in 2005 (shockingly recent given the state of the facilities.) The prison is relatively unknown so you spend most of your time freely wandering the facilities in solitude. This ranks up there as one of the most unique places that I’ve ever visited on my travels. Scenes from the prison are mixed with footage from a rare Metallica concert in Moscow which was held right before the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Location: Tallinn, Estonia
